Supplementary Regulations and Suspension List - Motorcycling Northern Territory

There are can be a number of reasons why Motorcycling Northern Territory may need to suspend the licence of a rider for a period of time. These can include medical suspensions or disciplinary suspensions.

Medical Suspensions:

What is a medical suspension?

A medical suspension is applied to the licence of any rider who has been injured whilst competing in a Motorcycling Northern Territory permitted event that results in them directly (i.e. in an Ambulance from the track) or indirectly (i.e. by private car as known by the Event Steward, Clark of Course or Secretary, even post event) attending hospital for injury treatment requires a Medical Clearance from a State Registered Medical Practitioner. Furthermore, MNT reserves the right to request a Medical Clearance on any rider they deem necessary after an incident, even if the rider doesn’t go directly to hospital on the day (i.e: refusal).

How do I know if I have a medical suspension?

If you have had a medical suspension placed against your licence you will have been sent an email to your nominated emails address on the Ridernet system informing you of this suspension.

Alternatively you can log into Ridernet head to the ‘My licence’ tab and look under the ‘Suspension’ heading to see if you currently have any active suspensions.

How do I get a medical suspension lifted?

Getting a suspension lifted is easy!

Step 1:

Go to your health care practitioner and obtain a medical certificate that states that you are ‘able to commence motorcycling activity’.

Step 2:

Log into Ridernet

Step 3:

Open the ‘My Licence’ Tab

Step 4:

Under the Suspension heading where your current medical suspension is listed click the ‘upload clearance’ button, upload your document and submit

Step 5:

Your clearance has been sent to Motorcycling Northern Territory for approval. This is usually approved the next business day

Note: If you are participating in an event and you are concerned that your medical clearance will not be approved in time. Please take your medical certificate to the event. The event officials will accept this at sign-in.

Disciplinary Suspensions:

What is a disciplinary suspension?

Suspension that has been imposed due to a policy being breached at a MA permitted event and/or subsequent non-payment of fine.

How do I know if I have a disciplinary suspension?

If you have had a disciplinary suspension placed against your licence you will have been sent an email to your nominated emails address on the Ridernet system informing you of this suspension.
