Licencing

In order to participate in any Motorcycling Australian Northern Territory (MANT) or Motorcycling Australia (MA) permitted event you will be required to be the holder of a current national license.

All MA National License applications are done on-line using the MA system ‘Ridernet’. You need to meet certain qualifications to obtain an MA license – all conducted and managed on-line.

Do you have:

  • Club membership in the NT – you must be a club member to get an MA license. If the Club you want to join is not on Ridernet contact them via the Clubs page
  • Proof of age (NT Drivers or Bike license PDF)
  • Ambulance coverage (Policy  numbers to enter into  the system)
  • Medicare Card for some….
  • Endorsements (where required)  if upgrading 50cc to 65 etc.
  • Access to the Manual of Motorsport.......there is test - 2017 Manual of Motorcycle Sport

The type of license you require is dependent on the type of event you wish to participate in. Below you will find a complete list of all current competition and non-competition licenses available to you.

Senior National Licence

Entitles the holder to participate in any authorised senior competition under the jurisdiction of Motorcycling NT or Motorcycle Australia.


Junior National Licence

Ages 7 -15 years inclusive, entitles the holder to participate in any authorised junior competition under the jurisdiction of Motorcycling NT or Motorcycle Australia.


Senior One Event National

A Senior One Event National Licence entitles you to compete in an open Classic Motocross or Historic Road Race event permitted by Motorcycling Australia.

A Senior is classified as a person who is over the age of sixteen (16).If you are obtaining this licence for the first time you will need to complete the First Time Licence Test. Click here for more information.


Restricted National Licence

Entitles the holder to participate in senior Fast 50's, Mini-Moto, and Moto-Trials competitions only.


Recreational Licence

Minimum age is 16 years of age. Entitles the holder to participate in practice,trail rides and other 'non-competition' events only.


Mini Licence

Ages 4- 15 years inclusive, entitles the holder to participate in 50cc Demo (previously Division 1), any Minikhana activities and all non-competitive events.


Single Use & One Meeting

The following 'Single Use & One Meeting' Licences are also available:

Single Use Recreational Activity Licence - Purchased on the day at the event, these licences allow motorcyclists to experience a one-off motorcycle sporting activity in a non-competitive environment only, eg coaching, practice, trails rides.

One Meeting Licence - Purchased on the day at the event, these licences entitles the holder to compete in one closed to club, zone or inter club meeting only. Junior riders wanting to purchase this type of licence must be able to show that they have a Junior Competition - Log Book.
